Important information about spare parts
This is a translation for information purposes. In case of differences, the Romanian version prevails. Romanian version
Spare parts are technical components fitted inside appliances. Please read the information below carefully before ordering and before fitting.
1. Check the part before fitting
- Compare the code of the part you received with the code of the old part and with the appliance model (the rating label on the appliance).
- Do not fit the part or put it into operation if you're not sure it's the right one. Contact us first – we're happy to help.
- Keep the part in its original, unopened packaging until you're sure you will fit it.
2. Fitted or used parts
Spare parts are, as a rule, single-use: a part that has been fitted, connected to the electricity supply or used (for example a water filter, a seal, a heating element, an electronic board) can never be sold as new again. That's why, if you return a part that has been fitted or used, we deduct from the amount the diminished value resulting from handling (OUG 34/2014, art. 14 alin. 3 – Government Emergency Ordinance 34/2014, Art. 14(3)), determined according to the condition of the returned part; where the part can no longer be resold, this may amount to its full value.
3. Opened packaging and product condition
You can open the parcel to inspect the product, just as you would in a physical shop. If the returned product shows signs of fitting, use, dirt or damaged packaging, the costs needed to bring it back to a resaleable condition (for example repackaging, cleaning/sanitising, technical inspection) may be deducted from the amount refunded. The cost of return shipping is borne by the customer.
4. Spare parts warranty
- All products benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for defects existing at delivery, in accordance with the legislation in force.
- Spare parts are covered by the manufacturer's warranty only if they are fitted and invoiced by a manufacturer-authorised service centre.
- Defects caused by incorrect fitting, by a wrong diagnosis of the appliance, by other faulty components of the appliance, by unsuitable voltages, water, limescale or improper use are not covered.
Warranty conditions for spare parts
All products sold on EPDirect come with the legal guarantee of conformity (for consumers: 2 years from delivery, under GEO 140/2021), for defects existing at delivery. The manufacturer's warranty for household appliance spare parts applies only if the part is fitted and invoiced by a service centre authorised by the manufacturer. For a claim we will ask for the fitting invoice from the authorised service centre; without it we cannot accept a claim for defects that may come from fitting (burns, short circuits, wrong connections, damage during fitting).
Not covered by the warranty are products showing:
- physical defects: knocks, cracks, chips, burnt or split components or parts;
- damaged, removed or altered warranty labels or seals;
- signs of use in unsuitable conditions: incorrect supply voltages, large variations in temperature and pressure, mechanical shocks, incorrect handling, humidity, dust, fumes or chemicals;
- incorrect settings and installation, sockets without earthing;
- liquids, metals or other substances getting inside the parts;
- mechanical or cosmetic interventions on the product;
- connecting or disconnecting components while the appliance is running.
Specific situations:
- Bulb – consumable: The bulb is a consumable and, by its nature, has no manufacturer's warranty. Check it on receipt: if it doesn't work on delivery, we'll replace it.
- Fridge thermostat: The fridge thermostat has no warranty unless it is fitted by a manufacturer-authorised service centre, as it is very sensitive because of its capillary tube.
- Heating element: The heating element is covered by the manufacturer's warranty only if it is fitted and invoiced by a manufacturer-authorised service centre.
- Aquastop hose: The aquastop hose is covered by the manufacturer's warranty only if it is fitted and invoiced by a manufacturer-authorised service centre.
- Seal – wear part: Seals of any type are wear parts and consumables. Their integrity depends on fitting, on the condition of the contact surfaces and on cleaning substances. Defects appearing after receipt (cuts, heat deformation, pitting, traces of grease or corrosive detergents) are considered physical damage or improper use and are not covered by the warranty. Check the seal on receipt.
- Electrical / electronic part: Electrical and electronic parts are covered by the manufacturer's warranty only if they are fitted and invoiced by a manufacturer-authorised service centre.
